Germany took into account Ukraine's criticism of Canada's decision to return a Russian turbine to Germany

 At the same time, the government spokeswoman said that EU sanctions do not apply to gas transit. The decisive criterion for sanctions is that they do not harm the EU and Germany more than Russia.

Earlier, Canada decided to return to Germany a Russian turbine for the Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline, despite the fact that the turbine falls under Canadian sanctions. Its return to Germany is supposed to support Europe's access to a reliable source of energy, while it continues to wean itself off Russian oil and gas.
