The Ukrainian Institute and the EdEra online education studio are launching a free online course "Crimea: History and People" in English

The course tells about the past and present history of the Crimean peninsula. The authors reveal the complexity of power relations in the Black Sea region and talk about the ancient history of Crimea and the Crimean Khanate. In particular, the problem of the colonial policy of the Russian Empire regarding the peninsula and the forced deportation of the Crimean Tatars is revealed.

The course will acquiant the unique culture of the Crimean Tatars and their long struggle for the right to return to their homeland. In addition, course participants will learn about the devastating consequences of the temporary occupation of the peninsula by Russia in 2014. These and other stories are told in 12 lectures
