Council of Europe condemns so-called "elections" in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine

Representatives of the Council of Europe have condemned the so-called "elections" in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.
The press service of the institution reported this.
The statement was signed by the Prime Minister of Latvia, the Council of Europe President of the Committee of Ministers, the President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, and the Secretary General of the Council of Europe.
"Held in flagrant violation of international law, they constitute a further illustration of the denial by the Russian Federation of the values of democracy, human rights, and the rule of law upheld by the Council of Europe. These sham “elections” can only be considered as null and void under international law," the statement reads.
