The Defence Intelligence of Ukraine conducted a special operation "Barynia," in the course of which it managed to recruit a Russian serviceman.

DIU representative Andrii Yusov announced this at a press conference with the participation of Russian military officer Danilo Alfyorov.

Since June 2023, Russian serviceman Danilo Alfyorov has been actively cooperating with the Security and Defence Forces of Ukraine and the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine. The Russian turned to the I Want to Live project for help.

He persuaded and voluntarily transferred 11 Russian servicemen into captivity in several groups, and when his life was threatened, Ukraine brought him to the Ukrainian government-controlled territory.

It will be recalled that in August, it became known that Ukrainian intelligence lured a Russian Mi-8 helicopter with its crew to Ukraine.
