Rescuers found the bodies of a dead mother and her eight-month-old child in the rubble of a house after Russian shelling on the night of March 2

The search and rescue operation is ongoing. On the night of March 3, Russians shelled seven regions of Ukraine again.

In the Donetsk region, which has been partially occupied since 2014 and where the frontline lies, Russians shelled the Volnovakha, Pokrovsk, Kramatorsk and Bakhmut districts. Three people got injured in Myrnohrad. Multi-storey buildings, private houses, educational institutions, shops and an agricultural enterprise were damaged. 

The Russian army attacked more than 15 settlements in the Kharkiv region, which borders Russia, with artillery and mortars. In Kupiansk, a 55-year-old volunteer sustained shrapnel wounds as a result of an air strike on the outskirts of the city. Residential buildings, an educational institution, and a car were damaged.

In the Zaporizhzhia region, which has been partially occupied since 2022, a 38-year-old man died in the Vasylivka district as a result of Russian shelling. In total, the Russians conducted 221 attacks on ten settlements in the region. The Russian army used aircraft, drones, MLRS, artillery and other weapons. Residential buildings and infrastructure were destroyed or damaged. 

Russians launched a missile attack on the city of Dnipro. A fire broke out at the site of the attack and was extinguished. The Myrove and Chervonohryhorivka communities came under fire from Russian artillery. Nikopol, which borders the temporarily occupied part of the Zaporizhzhia region across the Dnipro River, was attacked by Russians with a kamikaze drone. There were no casualties. 

In the de-occupied Kherson region in the south of Ukraine, the Russian army shelled more than 20 settlements, including Kherson. Multi-storey buildings and private houses were damaged. There were hits to critical infrastructure. One person was killed, and another was injured. 

A search and rescue operation has been underway for more than a day in the Odesa region of south Ukraine, where the seaport infrastructure is located. As of 10.00 a.m. (Kyiv time), rescuers have found the bodies of 10 people killed in a Russian attack on Odesa on the night of March 2. Work continues to unblock the bodies from the rubble. March 3 is declared a Day of Mourning for the victims of the attack. 

Russian troops attacked the Semenivka, Novhorod-Siverskyi and Snovsk communities in the Chernihiv region, which borders Belarus and Russia in the north. Ukrainian border guards recorded 59 explosions from mortars, cannon artillery and explosive devices dropped by UAVs. 

Russians fired 26 times at ten border communities in the Sumy region, which borders Russia to the north. Ukrainian border guards recorded 95 explosions. The Russians used UAVs, FPV drones, UAVs, artillery, mortars and other weapons. There were no civilian casualties.
