Satellite images show that Russia has begun to set up a military base near the Finnish border.

The Finnish public broadcaster Yle reported this.

The satellite images show that the Russians have built hangars for maintenance and storage of equipment on the territory of the Alakurtti garrison and the military depot in Petrozavodsk.

At the same time, more and more equipment is being transferred from Petrozavodsk to the Ukrainian front.

"These construction projects are the first visible sign that Russia has started investing in military bases near Finland again after many years," the journalists noted.
