Russian glide bomb attack damages protected by UNESCO Derzhprom building in Kharkiv

On the night of October 29, Russia launched an Iskander-M ballistic missile at the city of Kryvyi Rih and 48 Shahed combat drones and unspecified UAVs. The Air Defence Forces reported the downing of 26 combat drones in the Kyiv, Cherkasy, Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi, Sumy, Chernihiv and Poltava regions. Another 20 drones lost radar contact.

In the Kharkiv region, bordering Russia in the east of Ukraine, the Russians deployed guided aerial bombs in Kharkiv. 1928 Derzhprom building, the first modern skyscraper completed in the Soviet Union, a hospital, 21 private houses, 11 cars, a court building, and two educational institutions were severely damaged. Eleven civilians suffered injuries and four more died. Russians also shelled Oleksandrivka damaging the administrative building. The regional military administration reports no casualties. 

In the Donetsk region, partially occupied since 2014 and located on the frontline in the east of Ukraine, the Russian army launched 3,012 attacks on Kostiantynivka, Myrnohrad, Kurakhivka, Dachne, Maksymivka, Rozdolne, Starodubivka, Stinky, and Ulakly. Twenty-one residential buildings and cars were damaged. Two civilians sustained injuries and one died.

In the Dnipropetrovsk region, south-central Ukraine, the Russian army struck Kryvyi Rih with a ballistic missile overnight, damaging 11 apartment buildings, a clinic, a school, administrative buildings, a gas pipeline, and lock-ups. Fourteen residents sustained injuries, and a 39-year-old man died of severe open brain injury. The Russian army also shelled the Nikopol, Pokrovske, Myrove, and Chervonohryhorivka communities. Apartment buildings, gas pipelines, and power lines were also damaged. Two children suffered injuries. 

In the Zaporizhzhia region, partially occupied in the south since 2022, the Russian army conducted 331 attacks on nine settlements in the region. Twelve residential buildings were damaged. The regional military administration reports no casualties. 

In the Mykolaiv region, south of Ukraine, the Russians shelled the Kutsurub community.  The regional military administration reports no casualties. 

In the Kherson region, south of Ukraine, partially occupied since 2022, the Russian army shelled Bilozerka, Tomyna Balka, Beryslav, Kachkarivka, Tyahynka, Antonivka, Mykilske, Novodmytrivka, Sofiyivka, Shyroka Balka, Stanislav, Shliakhove, Mykhailivka, Mylove, Nadezhdivka, Odradokamianka, Komyshany, Osokorivka, Zolota Balka, Mykolayivka, Zymivnyk, Lvove, Sadove, Prydniprovske, Inzhenerne and Kherson. Two high-rise buildings and nine private houses, an administrative building, a library, a post office, an outbuilding and private cars were affected. Three civilians were killed and 16 injured, including two children. 

In the Kyiv region, bordering Belarus to the north, the Russians also targeted Kyiv, with the capital under attack by combat drones for the third night in a row. A gas pipe, apartment buildings, and cars were damaged. Drone debris fell in two districts, wounding six people.

In the Sumy region, Kyiv region, bordering Russia to the north, the Russians launched 212 strikes on 30 settlements. They damaged 11 private houses, 5 vehicles, an outbuilding, a gas pipeline, and power lines. The police reported no casualties. 

In the Chernihiv region,  bordering Belarus and Russia to the north, the Russians shelled the Novhorod-Siverskyi and Koriukivka communities. The regional military administration reported no casualties.
