Volodymyr Zelenskyy vetoes law on restoration of closed asset declarations
The President of Ukraine has vetoed the draft law on the restoration of asset declarations with a closed register of declarations.
He wrote about this in his Telegram.
"Restrictions are unacceptable. Declarations must be open. Immediately. Not in a year," the President of Ukraine wrote.
Zelenskyy stressed that the Verkhovna Rada should vote for the draft law with this amendment in the nearest future.
It will be recalled that on September 5, the Parliament reintroduced electronic asset declarations during martial law but closed the declaration registers for another year.
The next day, a petition was registered on the President's website demanding that the bill be vetoed. The petition gained the required 25,000 votes in three hours.
Members of the European Parliament also called on the President of Ukraine to veto this draft law on the restoration of the declaration of public officials.
