Legionnaires' disease outbreak in Poland is on the decline

The outbreak of Legionnaires' disease in the Polish city of Rzeszów is on the decline.
The Associated Press reported this.
On September 5, only one new case was recorded. However, the source of the virus is still being sought.
The last fatal case was recorded on September 1. The death toll from the disease has risen to 19 people. A total of 166 people have been infected.
Earlier, the local authorities in Rzeszów decided to disinfect the tap water with chlorine. This may have helped to stop the spread of the disease.
Legionnaires' disease or legionellosis is an acute infectious disease caused by bacteria that usually live in moist soil and water.
The disease affects the lung tissue and can lead to severe pneumonia.
