On the night of May 18, Russia fired attack drones at five regions of Ukraine. In total, Russians shelled 12 Ukrainian regions.

The Air Force destroyed 13 Shahed drones in the Kharkiv, Poltava, Vinnytsia, Mykolaiv, and Dnipro regions.
On May 17, Russians launched missiles at the Odesa region, a major seaport in the southwest of the country. A warehouse in the Odesa district was destroyed. Eight people were injured and one person was killed.
In the Kharkiv region, bordering Russia in the east, Russians continue to conduct offensive and shelling. On the afternoon of May 17, Russians fired guided aerial bombs at Kharkiv. 31 people were injured, and four were killed. The village of Lyptsi was hit with an MLRS, a man was wounded. A woman was wounded in Kupiansk-Vuzlove due to a guided aerial bomb attack. The Defence Forces of Ukraine repelled two Russian attacks near the villages of Lyptsi and Starytsia. Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled six Russian attacks in the Kupiansk sector.

Russians fired 2352 times at localities in the Donetsk region, located on the frontline in the east of Ukraine and partially occupied since 2014. They used multiple rocket launchers, attack drones, aircraft and artillery. Two people were killed and one wounded in Krasnohorivka during the shelling. One person was killed in Chasivyi Yar as a result of Grad shelling. One person was wounded in Bohatyr. Russians attacked Selidove and Lyman with guided aerial bombs. Two people were injured.
In the Sumy region, bordering Russia, in the north of Ukraine, Russians shelled the border 69 times with attack drones, MLRS, aircraft, artillery and mortars. The Khotin, Yunakivka, Bilopillia, Myropillia, Krasnopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Novoslobidka, Esman, Shalyhyne, and Seredyna Buda communities were subjected to shelling. Local residents are being evacuated from the settlements of these communities. The Sumy Regional Military Administration reported that over 13,000 people have been evacuated, including over two thousand children.
Russians opened fire on four border villages in the Chernihiv region, bordering Belarus and Russia to the north. The villages of Hai, Bleshnia, Mistky, and Senkivka came under attack. There were no casualties reported.
In the Luhansk region, almost completely occupied by Russia, Russians shelled the village of Nevske during the distribution of humanitarian aid. The Luhansk military administration reports that there were no casualties.
In the Dnipropetrovsk region, southcentral Ukraine, one of the most important industrial regions of the country, Russians struck 14 times at the communities of Marhanets, Myrove and Nikopol, next to the temporarily occupied Enerhodar, where Zaporizhzhia NPP is located. They used attack drones and artillery. There were no casualties.

Russians launched 452 attacks on the settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region, which has been partially occupied in the south since 2022. They targeted Mala Tokmachka, Robotyne, Verbove, Levadne, Huliaipole, Malynivka, and Novoandriivka. No casualties were reported.

In the Mykolaiv region, south of Ukraine, Russians shelled the town of Ochakiv with artillery on the night of May 18. No one was injured or killed.
In the Kherson region, partially occupied since 2022, Russians shelled 18 settlements, including Kherson. They used aircraft and attack drones. Five people sustained injuries.
