Russian attack on the Sumy region kills a teenager in Hlukhiv

Another 7 children are among 13 injured civilians.

The Russian army also struck the Yunakivka, Myropillia, Bilopillia, Krasnopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Novoslobidka, Esman, Shalyhyne, Seredyna-Buda, and Vorozhbianka communities in the Sumy region, bordering Russia to the north. The military recorded 153 explosions.  

In the Kharkiv region, bordering Russia in the east of Ukraine, the Russians fired on Bohuslavka, Malynivka, Moskalivka, and Kruhliakivka. One person was killed and another was injured, damaging private houses and utility buildings. On the morning of July 28, Russians shelled Kharkiv. The type of missiles is being identified. 

In the Donetsk region, located on the frontline in the east of Ukraine and partially occupied since 2014, the Russians shelled Kostiantynivka, Kurakhove, Lyman, Myrnohrad, Novohrodivka, Toretsk, Halytsynivka, Dibrova, Zoria, Ivanivka, Ivanopillia, Katerynivka, and Ridkodub. Five people were killed and 15 others were injured. The attack damaged 52 residential buildings, a medical facility, a church, two educational institutions, a boarding house, an office building, critical infrastructure, garages, vehicles, a power grid, a gas pipeline, and a wheat field.

In the Chernihiv region, bordering Belarus and Russia to the north, the Russian army targeted the Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka and Snovsk communities with mortars and used an FPV drone. In total, border guards counted 44 explosions.

In the Mykolaiv region in the south of Ukraine, the Russians launched an attack on the Kutsurub community, damaging a private house and a power line. 

No casualties were reported.

In the Kherson region in the south of Ukraine, partially occupied since 2022, Antonivka, Inzhenerne, Sadove, Poniativka, Tokarivka, Ivanivka, Mykilske, Bilozerka, Dniprovske, Shyroka Balka, Beryslav, Burhunka, Zamozhne, Chervonyi Yar, Novoraisk, Shliakhove and Kherson came under Russian attack. Three multi-storey buildings, 18 private houses, a gas pipeline and private cars were damaged. Four civilians were killed and four others were injured. 

During the day, Russians targeted Chervonohryhorivka, Myrove, Pokrovsk and the Marhanets communities in the Dnipropetrovsk region, south-central Ukraine. Nine private houses, four farm buildings, a power line and solar panels were damaged. On the morning of July 28, Russians shelled Nikopol, next to the temporarily occupied Enerhodar, where Zaporizhzhia NPP is located. There are casualties in the town: two children, two adults who were treated on the spot and six others who were taken to hospital. The city's high-rise buildings and infrastructure, a stall, cars, gas pipelines and power lines suffered damage.

In the Zaporizhzhia region, in the south, partially occupied since 2022, the Russians shelled Kamianske, Piatykhatky, Huliaipole, Levadne, Mala Tokmachka, Malynivka, Novoandriivka, Robotyne, Uspenivka and Levadne 386 times.  There were 34 reports of residential buildings and infrastructure being destroyed. No casualties were reported.
