On July 25, the Russian parliament approved a package of bills to increase the number of conscripts.
This is evidenced by Russian propaganda statements.
The Russian parliament approved three laws: raising the conscription age, increasing penalties for evasion, and banning conscripts from travelling abroad.
Previously, Russian citizens under the age of 27 were subject to conscription. Now the age limit is 30.
The fine for evading a medical examination was RUB 3,000. The Duma raised it to 25,000.
In addition, the Duma banned conscripts from travelling abroad after receiving a military call-up.
