The Dorohusk-Yagodyn checkpoint on the Polish-Ukrainian border has been unblocked after a faulty truck blocked traffic
This was reported by the Polish media outlet RMF24, citing the Polish police.
On December 11, a truck broke down on the way to the border crossing, blocking traffic in both directions. This happened shortly after the mayor of Dorohusk, Wojciech Sawa, handed over the decision to end the protest to the carriers who had been blocking the crossing for over a month.
"At the moment, traffic between Chełm and Dorohusk is unhindered. There is still a long queue of trucks heading to Ukraine on the road," the police said.
As the RMF FM correspondent Krzysztof Kot found out, the carriers have applied for permission to hold a new protest. The office of the Dorohusk municipality received a letter stating that the action would begin on December 18.
The blockade at the Polish checkpoints of Hrebenne and Korczowa continues.
As of December 12, there were approximately 2,600 trucks in queues at the border.
It will be recalled that on December 11, Hungarian carriers launched a protest at the Záhony-Chop border crossing point with Ukraine. The protesters are not blocking the border yet, and the action is being called "demonstrative".
