The Verkhovna Rada supports the resignation of Oleksii Reznikov as Minister of Defence

People's Deputy Yaroslav Zhelezniak announced this.
The vote was 327 in favour.
It will be recalled that on September 3, Volodymyr Zelenskyy approved the resignation of Oleksii Reznikov. This had been previously reported by a number of media outlets.
"The Ministry needs new approaches and other formats of interaction with both the military and society as a whole," Zelenskyy said.
The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has repeatedly been involved in corruption scandals related to the procurement of uniforms and supplies for the army.
For instance, in August, it became known that the Ministry of Defence had purchased "camouflage" jackets, which, on the way from Türkiye, were transformed into "winter air protection" jackets in the documents, and their price had almost tripled.
In January 2023, journalists published an investigation into inflated purchase prices for food for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In addition, in February, the Security Service of Ukraine exposed the head of a department of the Ministry of Defence for embezzling more than 100 million state funds.
The day before, MP Yaroslav Zhelezniak said that Reznikov was likely to go to the UK to work as an ambassador.
Rustem Umierov will become the new Defence Minister. In July 2022, Rustem Umierov was appointed head of the State Property Fund. In 2019, he became a member of parliament from the Voice party, was the secretary of the Parliamentary Committee on Human Rights, De-occupation, and Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories, and co-chair of the Crimean Platform inter-factional association.
